First training course on the taxonomy and systematics of African pollinating flies
In this training course, which will be held at the National Museums of Kenya (NMK) and the International Centre for Insect Physiology and Ecology (ICIPE) (Nairobi, Kenya), we will train 14 persons (from African institutes, universities, museums,...) in the taxonomy and identification of Afrotropical Diptera.

This training course is financially supported by the JRS Biodiversity Foundation and the Belgian Development Cooperation. The pictures shown on the left are from a previous training course in Tanzania on the ecology and identification of Afrotropical fruit flies (Tephritidae).

The 9th International Congress of Dipterology will take place in Windhoek, Namibia. Click here to visit the congress website.
The Congress venue will be the Safari Hotels and Conference Centre in central Windhoek. The Hotels offers modern, world class conference facilities, including a large reception area, suitable for functions, space for the erection of poster boards and three adjoining Congress rooms, the largest of which seats over 400 delegates and is suitable for plenary sessions. The two adjoining rooms seat 150 delegates each and will be used for concurrent symposium sessions.
Amongst others, there will be two symposia related to pollinating Diptera:
